Ammonium Persulfate 99% - PCB Etchant, Polymerization Initiator & Oxidizing Agent
Ammonium persulfate, with the chemical formula (NH₄)₂S₂O₈, is a strong oxidizing agent and efficient persulfate salt. This high-purity (99%) white crystalline powder or granules decomposes in aqueous solution to generate highly reactive sulfate radicals, making it essential for electronics, polymer synthesis, water treatment, and textile applications.
Core Applications
Micro-etchant and Cleaner for Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs)
Essential in electronics manufacturing for micro-etching copper surfaces, creating uniform micro-roughened surfaces that enhance adhesion between copper foil and resin substrates. Also used for stripping dry film and desmearing drilled holes to ensure PCB precision and reliability.
Polymerization Initiator
Key component in water-soluble redox initiation systems for emulsion and solution polymerization. Generates free radicals to initiate polymerization of acrylates, vinyl acetate, styrene, and acrylonitrile, producing acrylic emulsions, PVAc emulsions, SBR latex, and polymeric flocculants with high efficiency and mild reaction conditions.
Advanced Oxidizing Agent for Wastewater Treatment
Serves as oxidant precursor in Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs). When activated by heat, UV light, or transition metal ions, generates sulfate radicals that efficiently degrade recalcitrant organic pollutants including dyes, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, and endocrine disruptors in high-concentration wastewater.
Textile and Bleaching Applications
Used as low-temperature bleaching agent for wool and promoter for polyester alkali weight reduction, achieving effective bleaching while minimizing fiber damage. Also applied in electroless copper plating and as battery depolarizer.
