Barium sulfate sand, composed of natural mineral barite (BaSO₄), is processed into sand-like granules through crushing, screening, and washing. This product features extremely high density (4.2-4.5 g/cm³), chemical inertness, low hardness, and excellent absorption capabilities for X-rays and gamma rays. These properties make it essential for heavy industry and specialized engineering applications including oil and gas drilling, radiation shielding, chemical fillers, and high-density concrete.

Oil and Gas Drilling Applications
As a drilling mud weighting agent, barium sulfate sand significantly increases mud density and hydrostatic column pressure when added to drilling fluids.
